Finance Wales is part of the Finance Wales Group, one of the UK’s largest regional SME investment companies, providing growth capital for businesses, with funds of more than £335 million.

Scope:

As the client was leaving its parent organisation, a supplier was required to run key applications and the supporting hardware.

Requirements included predictable running costs over a 5- year term, fully defined services and measurable service levels, with granular costing and flexibility to scale.

Turnstone was deployed to run the tender process, under the OJEU public procurement regulations.

Key Business Benefits:

Cost savings:

  • 26% on annual running costs

Commercial benefits:

  • Services fully defined and included in the contract
  • SMART Service Levels linked to Service Credits
  • Flexibility to increase or decrease requirements as needed
  • Good cultural and operational fit with the chosen supplier
The Turnstone Approach:

Turnstone undertook a two-step process, including:

1.A cost benchmark on incumbent supplier to identify cost savings and key risks 2.An OJEU-compliant tender process using Competitive Dialogue

The team of OJEU experts worked closely with the client throughout, briefing them with all the information to make the key decisions.

All actions were monitored and recorded for audit purposes.

“Turnstone helped us to reduce our ongoing costs whilst gaining greater value for money from the supplier.  They ensured that the process adhered to the rigorous public procurement regulations.”
